I think this is a very nice book. My 2 yr loves to pretend to sneeze just so we can say Alhamdulillah, says Bismillah before eating, with that being said, I saw this book and thought it would be perfect to teach him more phases as well as when to use them. It's also a nice reference for my parents (who are not Muslims), to use when talking with my children.

Author should take time to translate it accordingly. More kids are trying to learn how to read Arabic and understand it. Authors should take time out to elaborately explain these duties for posterity and a better grasp of our spiritual language,it's a good effort though that should be commended but there's room for an upgrade of the intentions of the book. The information is on point but the book is full of mistakes and conflicting answers. The specs in the book are very good. None of the ASE books teach you much you need to use these books with a good text book If you want to pass. The E-1 and E-3 book were both helpful in I knew what to study. I passed the test along with 45 others and teach this stuff for a living.

I was studying for the E1 and this gave me all the necessary information I needed to be successful

Decent book. Riddled with errors and conflicting answers. Good enough to give you a idea of what you are up against in this oddball ASE test.

It is an excellent study guide. Many of our techs. have taken the A.S.E. tests and have failed due to not being able to do the job, but not knowing the technical details/knowledge of our profession. With this study guide all of our techs. should be able to pass the tests.

The instructions for accessing different language code were pertinent and relevant, allowing for ease of flow. I was initially discouraged by the use of Python as the programming language of choice, but I then found it to be relatively painless and well suited to the reader a modular view of how these machine learning algorithms work and the potential optimizations when eventually implementing them. Some of the examples required many vector and matrix operations. If your memory of linear algebra is not up to point, I would recommend a crash reminder in the basics because there was frequent reference to long tedious formulas that are expressed in summation notation.

I was looking for a book to give me a foundation of understanding around AI terminology and it definitely did that. Author, Michael B. White, offers a demanding, yet palatable buffet of information. From machine data mining and Python programming to quadratic programming and dimensionality - White covers all the basics. I found the concepts, from around chapter 8 to 15 a little over my head, for the most part, however, I certainly came away with more of an understanding than when I started. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a technical AI: 101 reference guide.

This book may a good tutorial on how to use open source machine learning tool kits, but it didn't make sense to me until I took a course in machine learning. Very early in the book it dives very deeply into the math of regression algorithms without really explaining how they fit in machine learning. Basically it's missing an overview of how ML works. Once I took a course, the book was moot.Also, the author needs to find an editor who understands technical book publishing and is willing to format it for kindle. There were a number of typos that actually lead you to an incorrect conclusion, equations were cut off, no page breaks between pages, etc.

Started reading this book to get basics of machine learning. But book organization is such that soon after the basics whole lot of advanced math and algos are presentedBetter would have been having separate sections for the beginner intermediate and advanced pieces so that reader can refer at their own pace.

The content of this book is good. However in the kindle version, the formatting of the examples is not preserved. Since the examples are in python, where formatting is essential to the meaning of the code, this often makes the authors intent unclear and very difficult to read. This seems like a major oversight.

When I started reading this book I thought it would be be a steep read, but it was quite enjoyable. The book starts off by explaining how the rate of AI is growing faster than we can understand, which will be a serious issue for us in the long run. This isn't a book, but a guide on machine learning. Machine learning is the concepts that we give our machines and AI in order to computer things and handle situations. I personally didn't like this book, but it is a good read for anyone who wants to do some self study on AI.

I have been into numerous mindfulness activities over the years. I have done hypnosis, self-hypnosis, Zen, Taoism, Tai Chi and Qigong. I am also familiar with numerous types of meditation techniques; however, I never read this book (8 Minute Meditation by Victor Davich) until recently when I purchased it for a bargain price on Amazon.Even though I have numerous books on meditation I found this 195 paperback volume surprisingly refreshing, interesting and informative. Where most books on meditation recommend doing two 20-minute sessions as a minimum, the author, in order to bring more people into the practice of mindfulness meditation promotes just 8 minute sessions at a starting point.I love the writing style and approach this writer uses to encourage the reader to practice meditation. He gives easy and practical answers to numerous questions about meditation. This text is organized into three parts. Part one meditation 101 gives a simple and practical introduction to the subject of meditation. The second part goes into detail on his 8 week meditation program. The final section explains how to upgrade beyond the 8 minute meditation program.In conclusion, this book is one of the best I have ever read on introducing meditation practice to anyone interested in the subject. If you are interested in a no nonsense, simple and effective meditation system you should check out this wonderful book.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. If you're looking for a fluffy good-feelsey meditation theory book, this isn't it. What it is, though, is a practical guide to creating a lasting relationship with meditation. Victor has created an eight week program with eight different simple meditations to practice for eight minutes a day. Each week he introduces a new meditation technique that you practice for the next seven days, and each technique, although distinct, increases in skill. I really enjoyed reading this book and following Victor's program. Although I didn't become enlightened, I have developed a much more chill relationship with my mind and the world around me. I highly recommend this book to fellow meditation newbies.

Critics of this book complain that 8 minutes of meditation per day is not enough. However, by the author's own admission (in the "upgrade" section, part III) you are encouraged to expand upon the time after you become comfortable with the process. Like any exercise--mental or physical--one needs to start slowly and build up. When I was training for my first 10 mile run, I didn't start by running 10 miles, I started with less than a mile and walking part of the way. Meditation is no different--start slowly and build up.This book is an excellent primer for those who have never mediated and want to learn.

The 8-MINUTE MEDITATION...book by Victor Davich is a wonderful beginner's guide to meditating. Without going into the philosophical or religious aspects of meditation, Davich presents just the basics in simple to understand and humorous writing.The book is broken into three parts:Part One - explains the what, why, and how to use the 8-MINUTE MEDITATION...book giving the reader a basic understanding of what they'll be doing and what to expectPart Two - this is the actual meditation program. It's broken down into 8 weeks and 8 chapters, with each chapter/week focusing on different forms of meditation that you'll be doing. The chapters are short and all begin with what you'll be doing, and followed by a Q&A that should answer any concerns or questions that come up that week. Very helpful. I read one chapter a week so as to not anticipate the next week's meditation technique.Part Three - this is at the end of the 8-weeks and if you decide to extend the 8-minute meditation to a longer duration, Davich provides the info here.I really enjoyed the book! Having never meditated before, I now meditate 8-minutes everyday and it has become part of my daily routine. Although I've completed the 8-weeks, I haven't extended the duration of my sessions because I feel that 8-minutes works for me right now. Maybe in the future I'll extend the time.The first time I meditated, following the book, I busted out laughing! In the beginning section, Davich explains how simple it is to start meditating by just focusing on your breath. In fact that's the first week meditation. Anyway, he explains that even though it sounds simple it takes some effort to remain focused on your breath. He recounts that this was what he did the first time he meditated and thought it would be easy. He writes that within 20 seconds he started planning meals and shopping lists etc., and couldn't believe how many thoughts were popping up in his head.Well, I thought it would be simple too. But like Davich, after about 10-seconds all kinds of thoughts started firing off in my head...and they came fast and furious, and that's why I had to laugh!As far as improving my state of mind, I have to admit that I don't obsess about things as much as I used to. Not to say that I don't get irritated or frustrated or anxious, but now I realize what's going on and I'm able to let it go.So if you're curious about meditating, the 8-MINUTE MEDITATION...book is a great place to start.

Bought this to learn about mediation since I had never tried it before. The reviews helped me decide to purchase via Kindle. I have now gone through all 8 weeks and am continuing on as stated in last chapter. I found the book easy to read/comprehend and immediately tried mediation per his instructions. So far the benefits to me seem to be a calmer feeling, better sleep (not waking up at 3am and not getting back to sleep) and my blood pressure is lower. Now to learn more how this might benefit me long term. I am a believer now but will see where this journey will lead me. I liked that his approach is simple and easy and only required 8 minutes or so of my time daily.

This is one of the most comprehensive, all-in-one college guides I've seen and it a very good starting point because it packs a lot of information into a concise, readable package. However, with a copyright date of 2002 it is time for an update. The SAT information refers to the "old" SAT and the scores are accordingly out of date. Because of the 2002 copyright date I was also suspect of the otherwise valuable list of other college guide book titles and websites. Nevertheless I found plenty of information, insights and advice that was worthwhile. The tone of the guide is practical and calm, and I think the Fiske Guide is helpful and a good resource overall.

This book gives an excellent overview of the college process from searching, interviewing, evaluating to financial aid. Very valuable is the "One hour college search" chapter which exposed us to many great colleges that we were not familiar with. I had checked this out from the library and then bought my own copy as it's definitely a great resource. If I only could read one book, this would be it. My college bound daughter will benefit from reading it.

The book is very helpful for first time parents. It is very comprehensive and provides all the details for the college process. I'm a guidance counselor and recommend this book to the students and parents.

Excellent Resource Book For College.

For me, the Fiske Guide was more informative and easier to use than The Best 377 Colleges by Princeton Review..However, I did buy both guides. After two weeks of using both guides I found myself grabbing the Fiske Guide over the Princeton Review.

Excellent source to narrow down the number of universities that fit my son's interests. Took one star off for not being clear about tuition costs for out of state colleges.
